Who doesn't love to travel?

If you're anything like me, you start thinking about your next vacation the minute you return from your last. Aside from the time you need off work, who can afford to vacation more than once or twice a year? The cost of living has gone through the roof, airfare is expensive and you're drowning in vacation home rental fees! I decided that I was going to find a way to "get away" several times a year as my work schedule allows. On average, my family & I are now taking 3-4 vacations a year. In addition, my husband and I are able to escape for a few day/overnight trips. How can we afford to do this on our salaries? We both have good jobs, but like everyone else, we're balancing a budget. We have 2 mortgages, car payments & my daughter's student loans that we are helping her with. We don't tap into our retirement accounts, and we don't drain our savings to travel. So what do I do to make this happen? I spend a lot of time finding the best deals. Our next trip is planned for August, and I secured airfare for 5 people from PA to FL for just over $800 total. Think about those savings and consider that the average cost for this flight is $300 per person. I didn't find these deals in a day. It takes time, patience and persistence. I spend an equal amount of time searching for the right lodging, discounts on excursions and affordable dining. My total discounts so far for this vacation have already exceeded $1000. Had I booked everything in a day, I would've overpaid for the exact same travel & lodging. So ho has that kind of time? I work full time 10 hr shifts, but I am happy to make time for the opportunity to enjoy life!

I want to use this page to share discounts and deals so that others can enjoy vacationing too. I'll be posting about our current trips with links to any discounts and deals I find along the way. In addition, I'll be posting some of my favorite travel accessories and where to find them. I'm just getting started, so please bear with me and be patient while I start to build this page into the masterpiece that I envision.
